What is Assessment Am?
General Assessment Tax or Excise Gate is the tax levied on rateable holdings located within the Area of Operations Tenom District Council. such as: -
- Residential Buildings (Apartments, Flats, Terrace Houses, Detached Houses, Bungalows and others)
- Building Business / Commerce (Shop, Shop, Shop Office, Shopping Complex, Hotels, etc.)
- Workshops, Petrol Station and Cinema
- Industrial buildings (factories, warehouses, factories, Depo, Substation and others)
What is the difference between the District Council / Council of Local Authorities (LAs)? Local Authorities (LAs) in the country is divided into three categories as follows:
- Council / City Hall
- Municipality
- District Council
- Council / City Hall is the Municipal Council upgraded the city after meeting certain criteria. Criteria for Council / City Hall is the total population of more than 100,000 people and annual revenue of more than RM20 million.
- Council focused on urban areas, compared with the District Council and has a population of, and results that exceed the District Council. Criteria for Municipal Council is the total population of more than 100,000 people and annual revenue exceeding RM5 million.
- District Council focused on rural rural-based. Criteria for District Council is a population of less than 100,000 people and annual revenue of less than 5 million.
